Last weekend the technicians of Judo Kodokan Cesena 1966, Vladimiro Burioli black belt 7th dan, Francesco Di Leonforte and Michael Zoffoli black belts 5th dan participated in the annual training dedicated to regional and national technicians in Rome.
The organization managed by the Castelverde (RM) sports club included a two-day full immersion on the tatami to reflect on various judo topics. After being warmly welcomed and exchanging greetings, the technicians from many regions of Italy climbed onto the mat and began to work. The stage was introduced by the master of the National Commission Gigi Moscato who suggested an ancient Kata (Kata = Japanese art form which proposes a series of codified movements representing various fighting techniques): the Go No Kata. This kata in particular has the characteristic of simultaneously developing strength and flexibility. Subsequently, all the programmed Katame Waza techniques (control techniques) were analysed.
In the afternoon, master Maurizio Casu began his lesson with a randori (standing fight) and finished with levers and neck controls. On Sunday another Kata was proposed: the Kime No Kata (an ancient form of fighting with Tanto and Katana). The Tanto and the Katana are the Japanese dagger and sword and are used for the study of some Kata. This activity was particularly appreciated by all the teachers; the study was positive and involved above all due to the elegance and martial nature of the movements. At the end of the two days, the national technical manager Claudio Bufalini congratulated all those present and publicly praised Cesena’s judokas, asking them to sing the song that best represents them: Romagna mia! Between a more or less tuned note and the help of the Emilian brothers, the technicians from Romagna managed to involve all the masters present in a single choir. Undoubtedly this internship brought home to Kodokan many new stimuli and a great synergy between the Club managers. The next appointment for the technicians is the teachers internship in Modena in November.
