A small box, big impact: With a gift full of hope and joy you can warm children‘s hearts all over the world. The Samaritan’s Purse association is once again launching the loving Christmas gift campaign “<a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/10/christmas-in-a-shoebox-2022-dorsten-online/” title=”Christmas in a shoebox 2022 – Dorsten Online”>Christmas in a shoebox” and the EFG community center at Auerstraße 59 is taking part.
The approaching Advent season brings a special opportunity to make children’s eyes light up. For the 29th time, Samaritan’s Purse, a global aid organization, is inviting people to send a sign of hope and joy to children in disadvantaged regions as part of the “Christmas in a Shoebox” campaign. The EFG Mülheim Auerstraße, a parish that has been committed to the campaign for a quarter of a century, acts as a collection point and cooperation partner.
The great journey of the shoeboxes, lovingly filled with toys, stationery and personal greetings, begins from Berlin towards Eastern Europe. There, local parishes have the honorable task of distributing gifts to children aged 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 as part of festive Christmas events.
Anyone who would like to take part in this moving campaign is invited to fill a shoebox with new, unused toys, cuddly toys, clothing and school supplies. A personal greeting or photo in the box can mean additional happiness. However, we ask that you avoid used items, liquids and sweets.
According to the organization, each box sent requires a donation of 11 euros 93, which will go towards the transport and smooth distribution of the gifts locally. Samaritan’s Purse is happy to issue donation receipts upon request.
The packages will be accepted at the EFG community center, Auerstraße 59 in 45468 Mülheim an der Ruhr, from Monday, November 11th to Friday, November 15th and again on Monday, November 18th between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Additionally, you can drop off your gifts on Saturday, November 16th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sunday, November 17th between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
