Galatasaray last week – Eskilsminne tonight.
It’s tough for Elfsborg.
– It doesn’t sound super sexy, but I think it’s extremely fun, says Johan Larsson.
Elfsborg has played some big games recently.
On Wednesday last week, they faced the Turkish giant Galatasaray in the Europa League in front of 37,000 spectators, and on Sunday they faced AIK in the Allsvenskan in front of 27,000.
Tonight, the contrast was complete when they were pitted against the division 1 team Eskilsminne at Harlyckans IP in front of a few hundred spectators.
But the job had to be done – and the job was done.
Larsson two-goal scorer
Elfsborg won the qualifying match without having to move significantly and is thus ready for the group stage of the Swedish Cup.
The cup is Elfsborg’s only route to Europe next season, as they do not finish top three in this year’s Allsvenskan.

The main protagonist of the match was Johan Larsson, who scored two goals – the first in the 18th minute and the second in the 76th.
Sebastian Holmén, Arber Zeneli and 18-year-old Leo Östman also scored a goal each and the match ended 5–0 to Elfsborg.
Damage worry
But the victory may have come at a high price.
Both goalscorer Sebastian Holmén and Ahmed Qasem were replaced with what may have been injuries.
Next up for Elfsborg is Västerås in the Allsvenskan and then Braga in the Europa League.
