Hlúčín started against the favorite without respect. Already in the second minute, the young Havran midfielder flashed his technical brilliance, getting rid of an opponent and hitting the ball into the crossbar. “We wanted to show Liberec right from the start that it won’t be easy for us,” said Hlučín coach Lukáš Černín. The North Bohemians were surprised by the home team’s game. Havran took the floor again, who finished again after Buchvaldek’s pass. But goalkeeper Krajčírik caught him.

The people of Liberec were not very dangerous, they could not get into any big things. In the 57th minute, Kolaska hit the arm of a Liberec player and a penalty was awarded. Ondřej Moučka changed this. It could have been tied after an hour of play. But Halinský did not convert a great chance. Liberec tried to do something with the result, the well-working home defense was against it. In the very end, Kania got into a break situation, but he was not successful.

The North Bohemians were obviously in convulsions and the home team could celebrate a shocking progress. “We got a goal from the penalty, but we created few chances. We had no quality at all in the final third,” Liberec coach Radoslav Kováč assessed the match. “It’s a big disappointment, we should definitely have advanced,” said the coach of ambitious Liberec sadly.

At the same time, Slovan started in Silesia in a strong line-up. “We took what was healthy. We had a strong enough team to win the game. Hlúčín played selflessly, we had very few transitions. I liked the young domestic midfielder Havran. I was disappointed by our offensive performance,” Radoslav Kováč shook his head.

“We appreciate the fact that we knocked out a leading league team that has great ambitions,” Hlučín coach Lukáš Černín smiled after the match. “We were well prepared for the match. But there is still a difference in that we are an amateur club and they are professionals. But once in a while it happens that you catch a favorite, we’ve managed to do it now,” said the native of Opava on the bench in Hlučín.

Hlúčín presented themselves with a sympathetic performance. “I have to praise the boys, they played the match. In the end, I prayed that there would be no extra time, because we were physically exhausted,” admitted Lukáš Černín and continued: “We managed to upset Liberec in the transition phase. We were also dangerous. The opponent could not completely conquer us, which suited us. In the end, we luckily managed to score the winning goal. We would now like to bring someone from the absolute Czech top to Hlučín.”
