Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs expressed regret about confronting a television reporter after Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

“I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did. I would like to apologize for that,” he said on Wednesday.

Diggs showed his frustration after seeing a post X who called into question his effort covering his opponent George Kittle on a sequence during the second half.

The 49ers tight end made the catch, and Diggs eventually pushed it toward the sidelines.

“Is that what you learned from the sequence? asked Diggs in a video shared Sunday evening. “From this whole sequence, is this what you remember? You don’t know football. You can’t do anything I do. (…) Stay in your lane, friend. Stop testing me. »

On Wednesday, Diggs agreed to comment on the game offering his perspective.

“I found myself behind our safeties, and I felt like I was the last line of defense. I feel like I stopped him from scoring a touchdown,” summed up the 26-year-old Cowboys athlete.

“I took this angle. And I don’t think my effort on this game was a problem,” he continued.

Diggs was more aggressive against the Niners’ offensive players than he was in the loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

Against San Francisco, he tried to get involved against the ground game, and had five tackles, one more than his career high for the season.

“I mean… I’m not a Kam Chancellor (former safety for the Seattle Seahawks, Editor’s note). But when it’s time to make a play like that, I try to do it to the best of my abilities,” analyzed the man who was absent from Wednesday’s training due to stiffness in a calf.

“Tackling is not my main strength. It’s not my superpower, but I can tackle,” he said.

Dallas has lost two straight games and finds itself with a 3-4 record heading into a game against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.

“It’s hard. We lose games. It’s not a good feeling to lose, I hate it and I love winning. So, yes, there is frustration. You want to win so badly, and when you put everything you have into it and don’t succeed, it becomes easy to give in to frustration. »
