Blüger and Shilov’s “Canucks” give way to “Hurricanes” in overtime

The Canucks lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 3-4 (1-2, 0-1, 2-0, 0-1) at home, ending their four-game winning streak.

Blüger played 15 minutes and 42 seconds, of which he spent two minutes and 23 seconds on the ice in the minority and another 19 seconds in the majority. He had two power plays, two blocks, won eight of 14 shots and finished with a neutral efficiency rating.

As Shilov remained on the bench, the goal of the home team was guarded by Kevin Lankinen, who saved 28 shots from the opponents.

After the second period, the Vancouver team was behind with 1:3. In the third period, almost eight minutes into the game, Quinn Hughes reduced the deficit to one accurate shot, but a little more than three minutes before the end of regular time, Pius Zutter tied the game.

In overtime, it took just 47 seconds for everyone to pull out the win when Sebastian Aho sent the puck into the home team’s goal.

Among the home team, Hughes and Brock Boser stood out with two (1+1) points, while Martin Nechas had a goal and an assist for the visitors.

The Canucks are in sixth place in the Western Conference with 11 points from nine games and will play their next game on Wednesday when they host the New Jersey Devils.
