On the shelves of PSG since his emergence at Sporting, Viktor Gyokeres sees his situation in Portugal evolving. The departure of Ruben Amorim redistributes the cards and Paris could benefit from it.

Viktor Gyökeres‘ rise to Sporting CP is impressive. And his last goal, from a free kick, confirms his potential as a world-class player. Arriving from Coventry City, the Swedish striker quickly established himself as a key element of the Lisbon attack thanks to his physical power, his ability to retain the ball and his goalscoring instinct. Gyökeres also stands out for his ability to play as a pivot, facilitating combinations with his teammates and freeing up space for other attackers. A profile that ticks all the boxes sought by PSG, orphaned by a real cutting-edge attacker. And Luis Campos, convinced of his potential, could have a real shooting window this winter.
Amorim s’en va!
On the Sporting Lisbon side, we are letting Gyokeres’ coach and mentor, Ruben Amorim, slip away. The Lisbon club has just confirmed Manchester United’s interest in an official press release: “Manchester United FC has expressed interest in signing coach Rúben Amorim, and the Sporting SAD Board of Directors has referred to the terms of the employment contract in force between the company and the coach, in particular to the respective termination clause and to the value of 10,000,000.00 euros. Manchester United FC has expressed interest in paying Sporting SAD the value of the aforementioned clause”.
“It will be difficult for Viktor to stay at Sporting…”
For Viktor Gyokeres, Amorim’s departure is more than a blow. His agent Hasan Cetinkaya indicated this publicly on April 10, when the Swede’s departure was mentioned: “It will be difficult for Viktor to stay at Sporting if Ruben Amorim decides to leave the club. We received 8 proposals last summer and we decided to join Sporting for Amorim…” PSG therefore has a real opportunity to sign him in January. Especially since Sporting has already set its price at 60/70 million euros. A budget within the strings of the Parisian club.
