La Matanza participates with more than 800 athletes and artists

The Grand Finale of the Buenos Aires Games 2024 began in Mar del Plata with the opening act at the Las Toscas beach and The Killing was present with part of its more than 800 representatives.

The delegations representing the 135 municipalities of Buenos Aires attended the main stage, where Axel Kicillofgovernor of the province, Andres LarroqueMinister of Community Development, and Leandro LuratiProvincial Undersecretary of Sports, began the thirty-third final of the Buenos Aires Games.

“We are very happy because this edition of the Buenos Aires Games set a new record of participation by young people and adults from the entire province of Buenos Aires. We achieved it in a very complex context for our country, in which the national government is carrying out an adjustment that also impacts sports,” said Kicillof.

They go for the medals

The delegations of Sports and Culture of La Matanza The competitions have already begun and they will seek to climb to the top of the medal table, as happened on eleven occasions.​

The large delegation of athletes from La Matanza is made up of young people, seniors and people with disabilities who will compete over six days in different disciplines such as athletics, basketball, badminton, swimming, soccer, among others. Seniors will participate in checkers, chess, trick, bocce, pentathlon, tennis, paddle tennis, shuffleboard and newcom, among others.

On the other hand, the Culture delegation represents the district in disciplines such as Plastic Arts, Circus Art, Buenos Aires Cooks, Cumbia, Folk Dance, Tango Dance, PCD Dance Theater (Persons with Disabilities), Photography, Freestyle Rap, Literature, Malambo, Oral Narration PCD, Rock, Vocal Soloist, Stand Up, Theater and Videominute.

It should be noted that the majority of people who participate and represent the colors of La Matanza arise from activities of the Secretariats of Sports and Recreation and Culture of the municipality, which are completely free.
