Mourinho’s Premier League Comeback: Will He Find a Home or Stay Unwanted?

José Mourinho has 12 seasons of experience in the English league and wants to return to training on British soil. The Portuguese coach acknowledged his desire to return to the Premier League, but before that, he guaranteed that he will fulfill his contract with Fenerbahçe.

«I had three clubs in England, I trained in four different periods and I loved it. And from a social point of view, I’ve been lucky enough to live in so many cities, but my family lives in London. London is my home, so one day I will have to return, unless no one wants me. One day I would like to return», confessed the Portuguese coach, in an interview with Sky Sports.

“But don’t get me wrong and let’s make it very clear that in the next two years, this season and the next, no one will take me away from Fenerbahçe,” he added, referring to the contract with the Turkish club.

Mourinho also revealed that there were no contacts for him to take over the English team, a position that, at present, does not fit with the “special one” philosophy.

«I still have too much energy to have just one game a month, I need to play. I think it’s something I’d like to do, have the experience of playing in a World Cup or a Euro. Representing the country, my country or a country to which I feel connected. but not now”, he acknowledged.

In the same interview, Mourinho once again criticized UEFA. «The feeling I have is that I am in trouble in Europe. I lost a final in a way that I still don’t accept [Liga Europa, com a Roma] and I’ve felt that way ever since. I know it’s a battle I can never win.”

The Fenerbahçe coach, however, does not want to be treated in a special way.

«On the pitch, it doesn’t matter if you are Lionel Messi or if you are playing for the first time. The rules are the same for Messi and the young player. And for coaches it’s the same thing. It doesn’t matter if you are Carlo Ancelotti or a young coach just starting out. You have to behave the same way. That’s what I want for myself and that’s what I’m not getting. I don’t want special treatment, I want honest treatment. Since the final in Budapest it has been getting difficult,” he concluded.
