The Spanish Football Federation officially communicated this Thursday the postponement of several matches scheduled for November 2 and 3, including that of Valencia against Kylian Mbappé’s Real Madrid.
The Valencian club, which had already allowed the postponement of its Copa del Rey match scheduled for Wednesday against Parla Escuela, immediately provided its support and offered its help on its social networks: “Valencia FC would like to convey its most sincere condolences to the family and to friends of those who died from Storm Dana. Much strength to all neighbors and affected populations and to the groups working on the prevention and consequences of the effects of the storm. The club reiterates that we are available to the authorities and municipalities concerned to provide assistance by any means possible.”
“It’s terrible what happened. I was at home quietly, without doing anything special. I saw that it was raining hard, but I only understood the extent of the damage on social networks. Ultimately, it’s weird but I know as much as you do,” Dimitri Foulquier, club defender, told us this morning.
Real Madrid also spoke out on the situation through a press release. The players observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the storm Wednesday morning on the lawn of its training center.
