Slovak hockey player Michal Mrázik ended his playing career at the age of 23 due to health reasons. The former youth representative and participant in two junior world championships was haunted by injuries for a long time, which did not allow him to start at all in the past season.
He was given a chance to restart before the new season by HK Poprad, in whose jersey he completed three duels in preparation, but did not play a league duel.
“I tried and tried to come back. I gave it everything I could and now that my body said no again, I decided to quit for good. I would like to thank HK Poprad for believing in me and also great cabin mates. Thank you for respecting my privacy.” said Mrázik on the Instagram social network.
During his career, he worked in the youth teams of the Swedish clubs BK Rögle and HC Linköping, in whose jersey he made one start in the highest SHL competition there.
In Slovakia, he played for Bratislava Capitals in the international ICEHL. After the club from the capital ended its activity due to tragic events, Mrázik also tasted the highest Slovak competition for HC Košice.
He made his last starts in the 2022/23 season in the overseas ECHL in the Atlanta Gladiators jersey and also played one duel in the farm AHL for the Tucson Roadrunners. In addition to the junior championships, he also appeared twice at the World Championships in the under-18 category.
