The STJD decided, this Thursday (31), what punishment will be applied to Abel Ferreira, from Palmeiras, due to the punishment for obscene gestures in the match against Flemishfor the Copa do Brasil, after the trial held at 10 am (Brasília time)
The discussion would initially be judged on October 11th, and was removed from the agenda after Verdão proposed a disciplinary settlement agreement to obtain the coach’s definitive release upon payment of a fine of R$100,000.
On that occasion, the auditor reporting the case, Marco Aurélio Choy, asked for a postponement for a better analysis and Abel continued to command Alviverde with a suspensive effect. With this Thursday’s decision, the transaction proposed by Verdão was accepted and approved, converting two suspension matches into the suggested fine.

REMEMBER THE CASE:
Coach Abel Ferreira was tried, on August 26th, by the STJD due to his expulsion in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil between Palmeiras and Flamengo, held on August 7th, at Allianz Parque.
The Palmeiras commander was punished with two matches of suspension and would have to serve the sentence in Verdão’s next games in the Brazilian Championship, against Atlético-MG and Red Bull Bragantino.
However, on the same day, the STJD granted a suspensive effect to Abel Ferreira after Palmeiras filed an appeal.
Abel Ferreira had been denounced in the following CBJD articles:
– 258, § 2º, II: disrespecting members of the referee team, or disrespectfully complaining about their decisions – Suspension of one to six matches;
– 171, § 1º: When the suspension cannot be served in the same competition, championship or tournament in which the infraction occurred, it must be served in the subsequent match, test or equivalent of a competition, championship or tournament held by the same administrative entity or, as long as requested by the person punished. and at the discretion of the President of the judicial body, in the form of a measure of social interest.
On that occasion, the match referee, Anderson Daronco, justified Abel Ferreira’s expulsion as an “obscene gesture against the refereeing decisions”.
– I expelled the coach of the Palmeiras team, Mr. Abel Fernando Moreira Ferreira, in the 38th minute of the 2nd half, after a review at ARA, for making an obscene gesture against the refereeing decisions, in an offensive way, touching his private parts – he stated

After the match, in an interview with Canal do André Hernan, the Palmeiras commander explained the situation and gave his version of what happened.
– I already had the opportunity to show our images, which Palmeiras has a view from above. There is a foul on my right side, and the images are clear, which I don’t agree with. And how it was refereed, especially in the second half, when it stopped a lot. And it takes courage to referee a game like that. And when the foul happens, I turn towards my coaching staff and make the gesture that the referee didn’t have the courage. He didn’t have the courage – he said
– I am speaking to my technical committee, through my voice and body gestures. The referee doesn’t have the courage, here you say something else, but I said he doesn’t have the courage. I will not deny the gesture, I made the gesture, but at no time did I intend to offend anyone. It took courage to whistle. I have already apologized to the players and I will apologize to my mother, my daughters and my wife. I didn’t offend anyone at any time – he added
