Nishikori defeated No. 3 seed M. Fucsovics (Hungary) in all sets in his first match, winning his first official match in about a month.
Klein, who will face him, defeated O. Virtanen (Finland), ranked 96th in the world, in straight sets.
The winner of this match will face C. Lestienne (France), ranked 196th in the world, in the quarterfinals. Lestienne advanced by defeating 8th seed M. Kukushkin (Kazakhstan) in the second round in all sets.
