From yoga to judo: Health days offered Homburg kids a varied holiday

During the autumn holidays, the city’s children’s and youth office carried out a three-day “Health Days” project in cooperation with the Caritas Children’s Center and with the support of the Rotary Club Homburg-Zweibrücken.

From October 23rd to 25th, the holiday program for children and young people aged six to 14 had a lot of interesting things to learn and experience about mental and mental health.

During the program, the children and young people learned a lot from Rebecca Ziegler-Fenner about healthy and conscious eating; Not only was breakfast prepared together, but lunch was also cooked together. For this purpose, mindfulness exercises were carried out together with Tanja Bohlander and Laura Lawaldt, with the dogs Nala and Onion and the goat Kurt, who had brought along. Everyone was able to relax at the end of the first day with an extensive round of yoga.

The next day the creativity continued: the children and young people made dream catchers and worry dolls. On the third day of the project, the weather was good and there was a walk with a picnic and a visit to the Erbach sports center. There the children and young people were able to let off steam and relax with games and a dream trip from Layla and Andreas Ecker from Rotaract.
