Businessmen said that till last year, marigold and other flowers were imported from Kolkata. Apart from this, marigold flower also came from Pune, Bangalore and Odisha and small and big businessmen here used to sell it. This time he earned good profit by selling Lailunga’s Sikandar and tennis ball marigold.

One and a half lakh saplings were prepared

Agricultural scientist KD Mahant said that marigold has been prepared in Kodkela of Lailunga. Vidyadhar Patel of the village had planted one lakh saplings in about 8-10 acres. He told that the marigold flower was prepared on the technical advice of the Department of Agricultural Research and Horticulture.

Income of Rs 30-35 lakh

It costs up to Rs 12 to prepare a plant, but it is sold for up to Rs 50. Due to this, the farmer gets an income of Rs 30-35 lakh and this crop has been prepared in about six months.
