David Åslin was an artist in SHL.
Now the forward is ready for Vallentuna Hockey.
– He is a valuable asset for our young players, says Vallentuna’s sporting director and coach Jussi Salo.
After three seasons abroad in Norway and France, where he was last recorded for 22 points in 31 games, David Åslin is back in Swedish hockey. This autumn he has been without a club but has now signed for Vallentuna in HockeyEttan – a short-term contract for the next three games. The club announces that Åslin is playing without compensation.
– David has been training with us all autumn and helped us to raise the level, especially in the morning training sessions. He is a valuable asset to our young players. As he is still looking for a new team abroad but hasn’t found anything yet, we took the opportunity to let him play with us now that we need reinforcements, Vallentuna coach and sporting director Jussi Salo told the club’s website.
Salo and Åslin have a long relationship since their time together in the White Horse, and Salo emphasizes the importance of maintaining good contacts in the hockey world.
– We have been able to help each other over the years, and it means a lot to be able to do that even now, says Salo.
Åslin, who has close to 200 SHL matches and almost 300 in the HockeyAllsvenskan on the merit list, is also a profile on the ice with three awards for the goal of the year in the SHL.
