In addition to the six fans, the police are also looking for three vehicles identified at the scene of the ambush carried out on the Mafia Azul, Cruzeiro fans, last Sunday (27), on the Fernão Dias highway, in Mairiporã (SP).

Cell phones, computers, clothes and weapons, which may have been used in the attack, are also part of the search and seizure request. On October 27th, fans of Mancha Alviverde, the main organized fan base of Palmeiras, carried out an ambush against a bus of fans of Máfia Azul, Cruzeiro fans, on Rodovia Fernão Dias, in Mairiporã (SP). The attack resulted in the death of a Cruzeiro man and left 17 others injured.

The Cruzeiro fans were returning from Curitiba (PR), where Cruzeiro had played Athletico on Saturday (26). The São Paulo Civil Police, through the Police Station for the Suppression of Offenses of Sports Intolerance (Drade), is investigating the case.

According to information from g1, the buses with rival fans crossed paths, stopped on the road and started the commotion. Videos circulating on social media show men with pieces of wood in their hands and attacking people on the ground.

The Military Police were called by witnesses to go to the scene. The Fire Department also had to be mobilized because one of the vehicles caught fire.

Conflict left one man dead and 17 injured

According to information from g1, José Victor Miranda, 30 years old, was confirmed dead upon admission to the Anjo Gabriel Hospital, in Mairiporã. Despite this, the cause of death has not yet been disclosed. However, relatives interviewed by the report claim that the information is that he had died inside a burned bus. The police have not yet confirmed it and only an expert report will reveal the cause of death.

In addition to him, 17 other people were injured, 14 of whom required hospital treatment, including one with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, but there was no risk of death. Also according to g1, the Security department did not say whether the São Paulo police identified and arrested the Palmeiras fans after the ambush.

Videos circulating on social media will be analyzed by the investigation to try to identify the participants. In addition, the Civil Police are also working to try to identify the reason for the attack by Palmeiras on Cruzeirenses.

Clubs demonstrate after scenes of violence

Cruzeiro released a note on social media late Sunday morning (27), regretting the episode and repudiating violence in football. In a note sent to ge, Palmeiras followed the same tone against fan fights and reinforcing the request for investigation of the facts.

“Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras repudiates the scenes of violence that took place on Rodovia Fernão Dias, this Sunday morning. Football cannot serve as a backdrop for fights and deaths. May the facts be duly investigated by the competent authorities and the criminals punished rigorously”, wrote Palmeiras in a note sent to GE.

Mancha Verde, an organized supporter of Palmeiras, denied having organized, participated in or encouraged any action related to the ambush against Cruzeirenses and said it is not responsible for isolated actions by Palmeiras fans involved in the attack. The fans also deeply regretted what happened and “vehemently” repudiated the violence.

The Blue Mafia, organized supporters of Cruzeiro, repudiated the attack by Palmeiras fans against Cruzeiro fans on their social networks. In a post on Instagram, the fans wrote that “the crying of your rival’s mother does not bring the joy of yours”.
