Sakura Judo, two fifth places at the A2 Italian Cup
Two athletes from Sakura Judo Ponte San Giovanni came close to the podium at the A2 Italian Cup held on 27 October in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Despite the absence of a medal, the day was important for the Perugian club thanks to the fifth places obtained by Federica Fioriti and Federica Faraone, results which, although leaving some regret, confirm the two judokas among the best in the category. The athletes, competing for Cus Perugia, kept the quality of their judo high, but were unable to conquer the podium, which they had already achieved previously: in 2023, Fioriti had obtained silver, while Faraone had brought home a bronze in 2022.
However, the performances of the two athletes represent a significant achievement for Sakura Judo. The results obtained have allowed the judokas to qualify for the A1 series, a higher category in which they will take part in the competition to be held at the end of November. This achievement underlines the high level of the judokas trained by the Sakura Judo technical staff.
Satisfaction was expressed by the entire Ponte San Giovanni team, who followed the athletes with passion and professionalism. Federico Sabatini directed the team in the race, while maestro Roberto Sabatini and the other technicians, including Michele Baldassarri, Daniele Calzoni, Antonio and Andrea Liotta, Roberto and Gianni Mastriforti and Luciano Todini, played an essential role in the preparation of the athletes. The entire team enthusiastically welcomed the result, which represents another step forward for the Perugian company.
In a gesture of support, the LDF Hair Clinic, represented by Dr. Luca De Fazio, offered the Sakura Judo competitive team new personalized t-shirts with the company logo. This tribute, delivered on the Tuesday following the race, added further incentive for the team, encouraging the athletes to pursue their careers with determination and ambition.
With the next challenge of the A1 series on the horizon, Fioriti and Faraone aim to further improve their results, projecting Sakura Judo among the relevant teams in the national judo scene.
