Pohjanpalo has no problem with Idzes having to return to the Netherlands and missing the Venezia vs Udinese match. Pohjanpalo said family is more important than football matches.
“About Idzes [absen]family comes first. Football is a sport, it is our job, but family comes first. We are all close to him [Idzes] and we want him to be with us today,” said Pohjanpalo as quoted from All Venezia Sport.
This is Venezia’s second win in Serie A after beating Genoa on September 21. The victory over Udinese brought Venezia closer to getting out of the relegation zone. Venezia is currently in 18th position in the Italian League standings with 8 points.
“This is an important match, but with many other matches to be played, all we can do is move forward by taking inspiration from this match,” said Pohjanpalo.
Pohjanpalo hopes the euphoria of winning over Udinese will not be excessive. The reason is, Venezia will play Inter Milan on November 3.
“It’s strange to be two goals behind at home because the atmosphere is very stressful. Winning is important for the team, for the mentality, it gives us encouragement this season. Next we will play Inter which is a very difficult match,” said the player from Finland.
