The table tennis school category of Cienfuegos after being positioned in first place nationally in 2023, an unprecedented result for the territory, in the previous version it dropped to second place.
Back in training and with their sights set on the 2025 competitions, they aim to maintain the results of the previous year or improve.
Leticia Suarez, coach, expresses that she is working with children with competitive experiences and others who have never participated in sporting events and the sub-9 category, “we have to start from scratch, that is why we are working with coordination exercises and others to improve.” the techniques, I think that if the deep work is maintained as is being done by the other coaches and the sub-15 is incorporated into the School Games, I think Cienfuegos will climb back to first place overall.”
Meanwhile, Andy Osorio LLul ateta confesses that he trains to win medals, “we are not yet training in competition but what we are doing here is very good.”
Like other sports, table tennis in Cienfuegos is not immune to the lack of technical strength, however, the strategies implemented in the province by the Sports Directorate with the support of coaches from the municipalities to the high performance center and the incorporation of new trainers, the territory is among the leaders in the country in this sport, which they seek to preserve in 2025.
