Robin van Persie Skips SC Heerenveen Match: Insights on His Absence and Future Plans

SC Heerenveen will take on Fortuna Sittard on Saturday evening at 9:00 PM. The Frisians hope to continue the good trend that was started in the Eredivisie against Sparta Rotterdam in Limburg.

“We have to prepare very well, because they play in a completely different way than other teams,” Van Persie is quoted on the club site of SC Heerenveen. “They are good at corners and free kicks and often seek out duels. They play very directly and are very physical, so this will be a serious test. We have to get to work. You have to participate in those duels, because you cannot do them dodge against this opponent.”

The head coach cannot rely on goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart in Limburg. “He is now training again, but Mickey has not yet participated for most of this week,” he continues. “He’s doing a program here tomorrow and so he won’t be traveling with us.”

“Pawel (Bochniewicz, ed.) and Nico (Ion Nicolaescu, ed.) were both a bit sick with the flu on Sunday and Monday, so we decided to give them some rest before the cup match. They did well. They were different. just started and Sebaoui was the only substitute for Nunnely,” said Van Persie.
