Some 370 athletes from the entity will be present at the competitions.

The torch of the Oriente 2024 National Sports Games arrived this Friday in the state of Bolívar, an activity that began in the El Diamante vial in the Cedeño municipality, with a two-kilometer journey through the main streets of Caicara del Orinoco, until reaching the cauldron, located in Bolívar Square.

The governor of the state of Bolívar, Ángel Marcano, was present at the activity, accompanied by the governor of the state of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez; from Mayor Julio Cedeño; the president of the Sports Institute, Omar Goudett; and the flagship athletes, Luis Pariche and Audreys Pacheco, both athletes from the judo team.

“The patriotic fire that illuminates our athletes has arrived in Bolívar, and what better way to receive it than next to our standard bearers, and with them a large part of the golden generation that will participate in the Oriente 2024 National Sports Games,” highlighted the leader. regional, who also indicated that the Bolívar state has a larger delegation than in the last edition.

Marcano revealed that the athletes have the presentation and competition clothing, during the ceremony of lighting the cauldron he formally handed over the flag to the judokas, who will fly it at the Oriente 2024 National Games.

For his part, Omar Goudett, president of the Bolívar State Sports Institute, stated that this year the delegation is larger, with more than 370 athletes in 25 sports disciplines.

“There are 480 people, including medical staff, physiotherapists, coaches, delegates and press personnel, who will be involved in this competition for 14 days, which is characterized as the most important in Venezuela,” he added.

Flagbearers

Luis Pariche, belonging to the judo discipline in the -81Kg, standard bearer of the Bolivarian delegation, highlighted the importance of participating in these National Sports Games.

“We are very happy and at the same time committed to the people of Bolívar to bring us the gold medals,” he said.

Audreys Pacheco, female flag athlete, who performs in the judo discipline, -63Kg category, said that she has high expectations with the development of these games.

“We feel well prepared to achieve medals and exalt our Bolívar state,” he said.

The patriotic fire of the National Games will continue its journey through the state of Bolívar, until it reaches Guayana Esequiba, then it goes to the states of Delta Amacuro, Sucre, Monagas and will rest in Anzoátegui until November 8.
