More than 250 young athletes in Riccione for judo and archery

Sport returns as the protagonist of the autumn weekends in Riccione with the appointment with the very young athletes of the judo “Green camp new generation” and with the interregional archery tournament.

The first winter edition of the judo “Green camp new generation” organized by the Italian Olympic judoka Elio Verde with the patronage of Fijlkam – Italian Judo Fighting Karate Martial Arts Federation will take place at the Playhall until 3 November. The event, which began on Thursday 31 October, is reserved for youth categories, male and female, aged 10 to 14. The initiative, in which over 250 very young athletes from all over Italy are participating, represents an important moment of training and sporting growth thanks to the presence of internationally renowned masters such as the Korean Jang Yong Soo.

The extraordinary guest of the initiative is the Azerbaijani judoka Hidayet Heydarovgold medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, with an exceptional palmares having also won gold at the Judo World Championship and the European Championships this year. Among the athletes present were also three very young judokas from Fispic – Italian Paralympic Sports Federation for the visually impaired and blind.

The autumn edition of the judo camp is in its first edition this year but it relies on a six-year tradition with the summer camp which every year, in Riccione, involves over 1,500 athletes.

The protagonist of the sports weekend in Riccione will also be archery with the interregional tournament taking place today and tomorrow, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November, in the gym in Viale Portofino. The tournament, organized by Arco club Riccione, sees the participation of around 150 athletes, from the male and female categories, from youth to masters.
