The third position of Max Verstappen in the sprint race in Brazil is in doubt. Shortly after the finish of the sprint race, it was announced that he would have to report to the stewards. This concerns a moment during the Virtual Safety Car period in the final phase.
In the final laps of the race, the race management opted for a Virtual Safety Car. Nico Hülkenberg had stalled, and the Haas had to be cleared away. Verstappen drove right behind the McLaren van Oscar Piastri and he stated that the Australian may have been driving too slowly. Now he may have made a mistake himself, and he can explain this to the stewards after the session. His third place is therefore in danger.
