Brazilian GP Qualifying Rescheduled to Sunday: What This Means for Fans and Drivers

Brazilian Grand Prix qualifying rounds were postponed to Sunday due to heavy rain. The session was to start at 21:00 as planned, but due to the heavy rain and severe storm that started half an hour ago, race control postponed the session for an indefinite period.

Afterwards, the FIA fielded the safety car for the first time to assess track conditions while track stewards attempted to clear puddles.

However, heavy puddles prevented the race from starting safely.

Finally, the FIA decided to postpone the qualifying rounds and it was decided to be held at a suitable time on Sunday morning.

In the statement made by the FIA, the following words were included: “The decision was taken due to the poor visibility conditions caused by the heavy rain in the last few hours. There are heavy puddles in some parts of the track and this prevents safe conditions.”

“As much as we want to see competition on the race track, the safety of the pilots, team members, volunteers, officials and spectators is our priority. The start time for tomorrow morning’s qualifying rounds will be determined as soon as possible.”
