Neymar celebrated Santos‘ 3-0 victory over Vila Nova-GO, this Saturday (2), at Vila Belmiro, in the 35th round of Series B of the Brazilian Championship. The triumph brought Peixe very close to returning to Série A.

Through a story on his Instagram account, Neymar posted a photo watching the game and highlighted: “we returned to where we should never have left”. Afterwards, the Al-Hilal star posed looking vibrant in a black Santos shirt.

Furthermore, Neymar stole the show during the press conference after the match by calling striker Guilherme. The attacking midfielder also exchanged words with assistant Marcelo Fernandes and coach Fábio Carille.

“It’s not possible, is this serious? Thank you, my idol”, was what Guilherme replied to Neymar, after receiving congratulations for his place in Series A of the Brazilian Championship.

Santos in Series B

With goals from João Basso, Guilherme and Otero, Alvinegro defeated Vila Nova and practically guaranteed access. Peixe needs a stumble from Ceará against Avaí, this Sunday (2), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Castelão, to mathematically achieve a return to the First Division.

Although there is still no mathematical confirmation of access, Santos fans are already treating the virtual place in Série A as a reality. Before, during and after the game against Vila Nova, Santos put on a real party, from the reception at the bus to the light show at the final whistle.

The Santos team leads the Second Division, with 65 points. The vice-leader is Novorizontino, with 63.

Neymar

One of the greatest players in Santos’ history, Neymar shone for the São Paulo team between 2008 and 2013. The star left Vila Belmiro with 225 games, 136 goals and six titles.

The former Barcelona and PSG player has been at Al-Hilal since mid-2023. After overcoming a serious knee injury, Neymar returned to the pitch on October 21, against Al-Ain, in the Asian Champions League.
