Moments of tension were recorded this evening outside the Trieste sports hall at the end of the Trieste-Varese basketball match. According to reports from Il Piccolo online, four people, including a policewoman, were not seriously injured in a clash between fans of Openjobmetis Varese and Pallacanestro Trieste.
Smoke bombs and firecrackers would have been thrown, the newspaper reports, as well as some objects. Tensions began when spectators, including several families with children, began to leave the stadium.
Various police and Carabinieri patrols intervened on site, as well as 118 ambulances. Checks are underway to ascertain the dynamics of the incident.
