Unveiling Alwi Farhan’s Journey: How Hard Work Earned Him the Champion Title

Surabaya: Badminton player Alwi Farhan won the BNI Indonesia Masters 2024 title. Competing at the Jatim Expo, Surabaya, Sunday 3 November, the men’s singles player who was born on May 12 2005 rose to the highest podium after defeating Malaysia’s representative, Sholeh Aidil with a score of 21-10, 21-21- 9.

Indonesian men’s singles coach, Harry Hartono, said he was happy with the achievements of his team. In several tournaments, the player from Surakarta’s performance was less consistent, so he still hasn’t won a title.

With more thorough preparation, the 2023 BWF World Junior champion was able to show his best game and win the title in the BWF Super 100 tournament. Therefore, Harry was not surprised by Alwi’s success in becoming champion because this was the result of his hard work.
“I first give my appreciation for the hard work and all the sacrifices that Alwi has made so far. “It’s not easy for me to see, but I think this is part of maturing from a mental and mental perspective,” said Harry.

Seeing Alwi Farhan’s potential in the future, Harry assessed that the men’s singles ranked 43rd in the world had enormous potential. Moreover, currently in the process, Alwi will become the main men’s singles player after previously training in Pratama.

“I think Alwi Farhan is continuing to improve in this transition period in terms of technique and physicality. I keep reminding him to maintain his mental health. “Moreover, in the adult level tournament the competition will be much different,” said Harry.

“Moreover, the opponents Alwi will face in the future will also be tough with an age difference of four to five years above Alwi. “From that, Alwi must be better prepared,” said Harry.

The plan is that after winning the WONDR by BNI Indonesia Masters II Super 100-2024 event in Surabaya, Alwi Farhan will compete in the Kumamoto Masters 2024 tournament in Japan. With the preparations made, Harry hopes that the competitive mentality of his children will improve so that they can compete at a higher level.

“Preparations after this are more focused on body recovery first. “In terms of playing patterns, I don’t think there are many problems and I think that fitness and mental factors must continue to be maintained,” said Harry.
