For the third time in a row she won the champion title.

The Vietnam Open 2024 badminton tournament has attracted great attention from fans of the sport. With the participation of many high-level bad players from different countries, it offered exciting, even dramatic matches.
Nguyen Thuy Linh, la joueuse No1 from Vietnam was the favorite candidate for this year’s championship. In addition, other Vietnamese athletes such as Vu Thi Trang, Lê Duc Phat and Nguyên Hai Dang were also expected to perform impressively.

By participating in this year’s tournament, Nguyên Thùy Linh set himself an ambitious goal: to defend his championship. His path to champion status has not been easy. She faced many formidable adversaries, but with confidence and determination, she overcame all obstacles.
She is the only Vietnamese athlete to have reached the semi-finals after beating the Japanese player in three sets (21-16,17-21,22-20), while the players Nguyên Hai Dang, Lê Duc Phap, Vu Thi Trang, Vu Thi Anh Thu and Nguyên Tiên Minh had already been eliminated. In the final, she only needed two rounds to win (21-15, 22-20) and win the championship against the Japanese Kaoru Sugiyama.
With skillful technique, an intelligent playing style and a persistent competitive spirit, Nguyên Thùy Linh has proven that she is one of the best players in Asia. In this year’s tournament, she defeated a series of fierce opponents and won the championship handily.
This year’s title brought the Dong Nai player 7,500 USD (around 190 million VND) and 5,500 bonus points in the Badminton World Federation rankings.
With talent and constant efforts, Nguyên Thùy Linh promises to multiply successes in the future. She could become one of the best players in the world and bring a lot of glory to her country.

The Vietnam Open 2024 badminton tournament has once again been a major badminton event across the country. Not only the opportunity for young talents to shine, but also for us to look back on the great contributions of legends such as Nguyên Tiên Minh. Aged 41, he had to face Indian player Abhyansh Singh (2-1) in qualifying, to reach the first round. The public once again saw Tiên Minh full of enthusiasm against the other players.
Many spectators came to watch the tournament because they wanted to see Tiên Minh play at home. They didn’t care if he could win the championship, but wanted to confirm that he was still a Vietnamese badminton icon, an example of a hardworking athlete, driven by unlimited passion for the sport. His participation in the tournament inspired many young talents, helping them to pursue their passion. In national tournaments, Tien Minh has won the highest awards in national professional tournaments for many years.
The tournament brought together more than 307 badistas from 22 countries and territories, competing in five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The Vietnam Open 2024 which belongs to the Super 100 level is one of the important tournaments in the BWF World Tour system. The event took place at the Nguyên Du Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City, to the enthusiastic cheers of the public.
This championship was not only an opportunity for athletes to improve their skills, but also a contribution to promoting the image of Vietnam to the international community while allowing Vietnamese fans to enjoy high-level matches and encourage the athletes from their country.
The final matches also crowned new champions: men’s singles Shogo Octawa, in men’s doubles the Taiwanese pair He Zhi-Wei/Huang Jui-Hsuan (China); in women’s doubles Miyu Takahashi/Mizuki Otake (Japan), in mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil (Indonesia).
