Yunus Nusi revealed that the referee’s news was contained in a letter sent by FIFA to PSSI.

The letter also states that the referee will officiate the match between the Indonesian National Team versus Saudi Arabia on November 19 2024.
The referee from Iran who will lead Indonesia against Japan is Bonyadifard Mooud. Then the one leading the Indonesia vs Saudi Arabia match was Lutfullin Rustam.
Yunus was happy that PSSI’s wish for an Indonesian match led by a referee from another confederation was fulfilled by FIFA. In essence, PSSI only wants the referee to lead fairly without any partiality.
“Some time ago I attended the AFC conference in South Korea. We conveyed that [soal wasit]. For our match against Japan [wasit] from Iran, which is the Arab opponent of Uzbekistan.”
“From VAR from several countries, there are no problems for us. What is certain is that our wishes are fulfilled. We don’t expect them to help but they are neutral,” said Yunus.
The refereeing problem was in the spotlight when Indonesia played Bahrain last October. The match against Bahrain was led by a referee from Oman, who is still in the same confederation as Bahrain.
However, referee Bonyadifard Mooud also has a record for making controversial decisions when leading matches in League 1.
In League 1 2017, referee Bonyadifard Mooud was protested by PSM because he made many controversial decisions when the Ramang Troops played against Persija. One of them was Bonyadifard Mooud’s decision to annul PSM player Wiljan Pluim’s goal because it was considered handball.
