UThe future “archery” section should see the light of day soon at the Le Réveil Doullennais shooting club. “ It follows a few requests we have had. A project is even being studied with the Jean-Rostand college for the practice of this discipline », announced Friday October 25, Jean-Louis Dumoulin, president of the shooting club, during the annual general meeting. It took place in the hall of the old court in the presence of a large audience.
He added: “As I have said many times and I repeat today, we need, in addition to traditional competition, to think about new concepts.” In this context, the Réveil Doullennais will develop several “Santé vous Sport” and “Sport Handicap” workshops, offering adapted, preventive, civic-minded sports practice, a factor in physical and psychological well-being. According to Jean-Louis Dumoulin, the State and the Somme Departmental Council contribute to these projects by allocating financial assistance upon detailed presentation of these projects.
Who will be affected by these new activities? All types of people wishing to practice physical activity with the aim of improving their health and/or well-being. Why such an approach? It is an axis of development in addition to traditional activities which can generate new resources for the development of the association.
The Doullennais Awakening has no shortage of projects
The primary vocation of the Réveil Doullennais remains sporting shooting. However, we should not neglect leisure shooting, which is well supervised. “ With this in mind, we plan to set up recreational days with specific workshops including traditional shooting, blowgun shooting, laser rifle shooting and a brand new discipline on gallows for people aged 60 and over, axis development for the future », revealed the president of Réveil Doullennais.
Furthermore, the shooting club, encountering difficulties accessing the 25-meter range at the citadel, must quickly think about a new concept. “The construction of a new stand is more than necessary”alerted President Dumoulin. Le Réveil Doullennais therefore hopes that the municipality, which was represented at this general assembly by the deputy mayor Marie-Christine Philippin, will include it in its projects in the very near future.
Concerning the elections aspect, Jean-Louis Dumoulin was re-elected president of Réveil Doullennais. The next step will be the establishment of the steering committee on Friday, November 15.
