Christo POPOV equalizes the score against his older brother. The two brothers had played each other only once on the international circuit. It was in March 2022 at the semi-final stage of the Orléans Masters and it was the greatest who won. This time Christo POPOV was stronger and won easily 21/13 21/10. With this title, the youngest of the siblings returns to the path to victory after his title in February 2024, already in Germany, during the German Open (Super 300).
The two brothers were also entered in doubles and stopped at the semi-final stage.

10 months before the Badminton World Championships organized at the adidas arena in Paris from August 25 to 31, 2025, the density of the French men’s singles has never been so strong with Alex LANIER and the POPOV brothers.

Christo POPOV : “Germany works for me. I am very happy to win my second title. I am also more than happy to share the podium with my brother. It is above all a victory for the team. We prepared for the match as usual even if it’s always special to face your brother. Today it came down to who was in the best shape.
