Joe Kelly calls the Yankees one of the worst teams in the playoffs

Joe Kelly did not hesitate to express his opinion about the New York Yankees after the World Series that the Dodgers won.

After the victory, which gave the Dodgers their eighth title in history, Kelly described the Yankees as “one of the worst teams in the playoffs,” emphasizing that the level of both teams was disproportionate from the beginning.

Kelly not only questioned the Yankees’ performance, but also implied that their attitude was not up to par.

For the pitcher, the World Series felt like it had already been won due to what he considered to be the Dodgers’ obvious superiority:

“From the beginning, it was a mismatch. If we were to do a ranking for the playoffs, they could be ranked 8th or 9th best team in the playoffs.

The confidence in his team was such that, for him, the Yankees did not even compete with other postseason teams, such as the Phillies, Mets and Atlanta Braves, teams that he placed above the New York team.

Kelly also highlighted the commitment of the superstars in the Dodgers locker room, highlighting the difference in their approach and work ethic.

“All we knew was that we had to play regular Dodger baseball...we didn’t have to do anything crazy, and we were going to win the World Series. Look at the team, look at the talent,” he said.

“We pay attention to every detail. We have many important superstars in our locker roombut our superstars also care and are not lazy and play hard. That is the difference and the biggest separator,” said the pitcher.

The final at Yankee Stadium also had an impressive comeback, as the Dodgers were down 0-5 in the fifth inning.

However, with decisive contributions from players like Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernández, they managed to turn the score around and win the match 7-6, sealing the series with a clear 4-1 advantage and securing a new trophy for Los Angeles under the direction of Dave Roberts.
