“Lielvārde/Fat Pipe” takes revenge on the Irlavnians in a productive match
A high-scoring ELVI floorball league game took place tonight at the Lielvārde sports center, where “Lielvārde/Fat Pipe” with 9:6 beat the team “Irlava/SK Slampe/Zevid“, taking revenge for the loss experienced in the first round of the tournament. Juris Sandis Jēgers was the most productive among the winners with 4 (3+1) points.
In the first round of the regular tournament, when both teams met at the Irlava Sports Center, “Irlava/SK Slampe/Zevid” won 5:4. It’s clear that the giants were very much in the mood to take revenge tonight at their home ground, but the implementation of this plan did not go so smoothly for them. Only one goal was scored in the first period – in the 20th minute, the home team Juris Sandis Jēgers shot the ball accurately from a long distance (1:0). In the 24th minute, Markus Nazarov made it 2:0. After three minutes, the scoreboard already announced that it was tied again – 2:2. Kristers Tiltiņš scored two goals – the first with a free kick, and the second – from play. Lielvardi didn’t delay with the answer – in the 33rd minute they again had a two-goal handicap (4:2). Niks Blumfelds (in the numerical minority) and Aivis Kusiņš each scored a goal. In the 36th minute, Renars Stančik used the numerical majority of his team (3:4), but the point for this period was added by Jäger with a goal thrown at the last second – 5:3. In the 55th minute, the hosts already had a five-goal advantage – 8:3. The goals were scored by Sandis Mihailovskis, Oskars Tūtans and Armands Savins. Five minutes before the end of regular time, the visitors began to change their goalkeeper for a sixth player. In the 57th minute, Emils Krūmiņš made it 4:8. Three minutes before the end of the regular time, Jäger scored the third goal in this match, sending the ball into the then empty goal of Irlavniki – 9:4. The Irlava team did not give up and scored two more goals – a “hat-trick” was scored by Tiltiņš, while the second goal in this match was scored by Krūmiņš. However, “Lielvārde/Fat Pipe” won with 9:6.
Juris Sandis Jēgers was the most productive among the winners with 4 (3+1) points. Markus Nazarov scored 3 (1+2) performance points, while Aivis Kusiņš, Oskars Tūtans and Sandis Mihailovskis, who received the best player award, collected 2 (1+1) points each. “Hat-trick” author Kristeras Tiltinas was recognized as the best among the Irish players. Three performance points each for his teammates Emīls Krūmiņas and Kristaps Pešiks. After this victory, “Lielvārde/Fat Pipe” climbed to the 3rd place in the tournament table with 22 points, while the team “Irlava/SK Slampe/Zevid” still has ten points and 8th place.
