With most of the NFL action from Week 9 written down, let’s take a look at the league’s biggest winners from Sunday’s games.
Baltimore Ravens Offense
Facing a Denver Broncos defense that has allowed the fewest yards per play (4.4) in the league through eight weeks, the Ravens offense had a field day during a 41-10 loss at M&T Bank Stadium. Lamar Jackson, who is trending to become the sixth player to win back-to-back NFL MVP awards, scored three touchdowns and posted the fourth career perfect passer rating (158.3).
On the receiving end of Jackson’s dominant outing was WR Zay Flowers, who finished 5 of 6 targets for 127 yards and two first-half scores. The least surprising result of the game came from RB Derrick Henry, who effortlessly recorded his fourth 100+ rushing yard and two touchdown game of the season.
Henry currently sits at 1,052 rushing yards and is on pace to finish with 13 yards rushing for his second career 2,000-yard rushing season.
Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley
Barkley was all over Jacksonville’s defense during Philadelphia’s 28-23 win on Sunday, rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown before adding 40 yards and scoring another through the air. He finished the game one yard short of recording his first 200-yard scrimmage performance since Dec. 22, 2019.
However, his terrible numbers were far from the most impressive feat he has achieved in the game. On a third-down play early in the second quarter, Barkley introduced a move to the league that no one had ever attempted on a professional football field: the rear blocker.
