Dennis Schröder led the Brooklyn Nets to victory with 20 points and decisive scenes at the end of the game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Together with Cam Johnson, who also scored 20 points, and Dorian Finney-Smith, who contributed 17 points, the national team captain secured the Nets’ fourth win of the season in the NBA with a score of 106:104. Ja Morant was the most successful thrower for the guests with 25 points. Schröder blocked an attempt by Morant in the final minute and scored the Nets’ important final basket on the other side to make it 106:101.
For Schröder’s world champion colleagues Franz and Moritz Wagner, however, the Orlando Magic suffered the next clear defeat. The Magic lost 86:102 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were still struggling. Franz Wagner scored 22 points and was the best scorer on his team. There were also four rebounds, two assists and two steals. His brother Moritz Wagner and NBA newcomer Tristan da Silva, who started again, had nine points each.
The Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers are the only two teams in the NBA that are still undefeated. The Cavaliers won 116:114 against the Milwaukee Bucks and now have eight wins in a row. They had the best start to the season in their history.
