Announcement: VBD ball test 2025/2026 | German Badminton Association

The DBV Executive Board must determine by May 15, 2025 which natural feather balls will be used in the next season of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga and at other DBV events.

For the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, only the natural shuttlecock varieties of the highest quality product of the relevant natural shuttlecock brand (Category I) are eligible, provided the quality has been confirmed by successful participation in the VBD ball test 2025/2026.

For the other DBV events, it is decided to only allow natural badminton brands and varieties whose quality has also been confirmed by successful participation in the VBD ball test 2025/2026. The types of natural shuttlecocks in question here are both category I, i.e. the first qualitative product of the natural shuttlecock brand in question, as well as category II, i.e. the second qualitative product, category III, i.e. the third qualitative product, and category IV, i.e. the fourth qualitative product Product of the natural badminton brand in question.

Successful participation in the VBD ball test also entitles you to submit an offer to purchase balls from the DBV for your own use in 2025/2026 (training at the federal bases, balls for training courses). See the public tender listed below.
Companies interested in taking part in the VBD ball test are given the opportunity to do so by 15.01.2025 (Inbox) send two dozen balls per category/type and speed to the DBV office, Südstraße 25, 45470 Mülheim an der Ruhr.

The test fee to be paid by interested companies for the 2025/2026 season is 2,500 euros plus the applicable statutory VAT including one type of ball. An additional 150 euros plus VAT is due for each additional type of ball submitted for testing. The fee must be paid by January 15, 2025 (receipt of payment) at the latest as follows:

Participation in the VBD ball test can only take place if payment is received on time. The payer will receive an invoice from the payee after receipt of payment by January 31, 2025 at the latest.

The result of the ball test will be reported to the DBV Executive Board by the VBD by 30.04.2025 communicated. The decision of the DBV Executive Board to determine the natural shuttlecocks for the 2025/2026 season will be communicated to the relevant companies and organizers in writing by May 15, 2025 at the latest.
