Santissima Trinità sui scudi, or the three TRs (Trento, Trieste, Trapani) which present themselves in the monstrous version, with a differential of 81 points in the victories obtained.
Having deserved the well-deserved celebrations for league leaders Trento, it also seems appropriate to underline why never in history have two newly promoted teams risen to such a high level at the same time. Thanks to two ambitious and structured companies, surfing the long wave of promotional enthusiasm. Thanks to external departments (with Ross and Robinson inexhaustible motors) with doses of talent above average, to batteries of big men with very high basketball IQ. And also, why not, of a banal technical phase that is sometimes underestimated such as all-court pressure, which allows you to dictate a frenetic match pace that is unsustainable even for the most prepared opponents.
FUTURE of Italian basketball in increasingly dark colours, at least to follow up on the alarmism generated by the poor results in the major European competitions and the almost zero use of local athletes. If the problem is not the exposure of the players, but the production of the same, we are now facing 15/20 years of cosmic nothingness at a programming level.
Given that the absence of rules creates infinite openings, the establishment of the mandatory percentage of the budget dedicated to the youth sector by the registered clubs would seem to be the most within reach solution; exactly along the lines of the German model, now a leading movement in Europe. Expenditure by expenditure, the need for companies to equip themselves with structures and men combined with openness towards the future would be better explained; each must be able to decide whether to invest the money on its own or through one or more subsidiaries.
In an ideal basketball world: FIP should be the fulcrum of movement expansion, through initiatives, dedicated staff and local presence; in short, to resume a leading role as a national basketball school, as in the years of the great boom of the 60s/70s/80s.
BIG CLUBS (from A1 to B) would represent the ambition of an entire territory through the organization, elevating it with results, but also making the neighboring realities stronger and more aware; never as in this case can unity create strength.
SMALL CLUBS they must give up the role of only quota collectors to find themselves in a more welcoming dimension for families and proud in their ability to produce players; they can be the ideal conduit to reach the next level.
SCHOOL SECTOR strategic sector, an often unexplored mine, with FIP and Piccoli Club leading the way in terms of spreading the word and education.
If these appear to be the objectives, the ways to achieve them may be the subject of future proposals and discussions. —
