Before the first match between the two teams this season, NND/RJTC took the third place in the tournament table with nine points in four games, while the female players have five points in five matches and are fifth overall. Last year, the women from Cēsis lost all four matches between them, and this battle also started unsuccessfully, because in the first minute Klinta Rovīte put the women from Riga in the lead, but in the 28th minute she doubled the advantage. In the middle of the game, it seemed that the battle could be with few goals again, but in the 33rd minute, Evelina Barka scored the first goal of the season, reducing the deficit to a minimum. In the next four minutes, Evelīna Drozdova scored her first goal of the season, but Klinta Rovīte scored a hat-trick, increasing the visitors’ lead to 4:1.
In the third period, the result remained unchanged for a longer time, but in the 47th minute, the home team managed to score two goals with an interval of 14 seconds. First, long-time team leader Jane Eglite was accurate, but then Katrīna Dārta Kārkliņa, the most productive player of the unit, was also accurate. On the other hand, Juta Hmeļnička, who returned to the Latvian championship circuit this season after a four-year absence, stood out with an assist. In such a scenario, NND/RJTC, coached this season by česi player Gints Bērtulis, requested a 30-second timeout, after which they realized the numerical majority twice, but were successful once when the teams played in a four-on-four format. At 3:7, the girls didn’t break either, quickly scoring the fourth goal, but then also scored the fifth, playing without a goalkeeper. In other games this season, this would have resulted in a win, but this time NND/RJTC prevailed 7-5 for their fourth win in the standings.
Klinta Rovitė scored three goals, but Karina Saidova was more productive than her, with one goal and three assists. For the home team, three floorball players earned two performance points each.
