Red Bull Salzburg is experiencing major personnel problems in the run-up to the Champions League match with Feyenoord, the club reports through its official channels. Two basic players of coach Pepijn Lijnders have been added to the long list of absentees due to illness: Stefan Bajcetic and Mads Bidstrup.
In total, RB Salzburg must make do without no fewer than eleven players. The fourth round of the Champions League will kick off in De Kuip on Wednesday evening at 9 p.m., but the Austrians will certainly not appear at full strength.
Goalkeeper Alexander Schlager cannot play due to a suspension. The closing post received a direct red card in the lost match against Dinamo Zagreb and will be replaced by Janis Blaswich against Feyenoord.
Bajetic and Bidstrup have consistently been given a starting spot by Lijnders in recent weeks, but the duo had to miss the last training before the match against Feyenoord due to illness. There is little chance that the coach will have access to the pair.
It was also known that Amar Dedic is struggling with a groin injury and that Fernando (thigh), Takumu Kawamura (knee), Bryan Okoh (thigh) and Moussa Yeo (ankle) are also unavailable.
There is still a big question mark behind the names of Lucas Gourna-Douath, Maurits Kjaergaard and Petar Ratkov, the club reports.
The most notable absentee from Feyenoord’s side is goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, who is struggling with a minor injury. It is likely that Wellenreuther will be under the bar, although in theory Priske can also choose nineteen-year-old Plamen Andreev.
