NFL fever is rampant on the Isar. For the second time after 2022, Munich will host the US football league NFL this year and on Sunday the Carolina Panthers will meet the New York Giants.
NFL game in Munich: The sporty menu is now available
Fans can also get in the mood for the superlative sports spectacle with culinary delights – in the Brenner restaurant on Maximilianstrasse. A special “Touchdown Menu” will be served there from now on until game day (November 10th).
At the kick-off, host and restaurateur Rudi Kull and the new US Consul General in Munich, James N. Miller, invited people to try out the feast. And the guests were able to enjoy the delicacies from the USA: North Carolina Sweet Potato Patties and East Coast Crab Cakes, Manhattan Clam Chowder, US Prime Filet Mignon were served and for dessert there was Pecan Pie with vanilla ice cream.
Rudi Kull was immediately enthusiastic about the consulate’s request
Rudi Kull was immediately enthusiastic when the consulate asked him to contribute something culinary to the major sporting event, as he said:
“I lived in the USA for a long time, six years, so the doors were open to me. Our special menu is all about food from North Carolina and the East Coast. The restaurant in Los Angeles where I I used to work is very well known for its crab cakes, which are now available here.”
He continued: “The idea behind it is to be able to reflect the culture with this sporting event, which I’m really looking forward to.”
“The game is about two teams and the importance of sport, culture and community”
James N. Miller has only been in his job for two months, but greeted the guests in German: “Everyone is looking forward to the result. This game is not just about two teams, but also about the importance of sport, culture and the Community. Sport strengthens our society and brings people together.”
