Mongolian Tuv Azarganuud has scored just two goals in his opening nine games of the Mongolian Premier League.

As if that wasn’t enough, they have let in 111.

Well, that’s actually the right number of ones.

It is described as the worst start to the season of all time in club football, for obvious reasons.

After finishing fifth last season, Mongolian Tuv Azarganuud lost all their key players for this season of the Mongolian Premier League, the top division of Mongolian football. Including fixed star Tsedenbalyn Tumenjargal, who was sold to league competitor Brera Ilch this summer.

The A-team players have also been forced to replace their own academy products and players from lower divisions.

It has undeniably been felt on the pitch.

Big losses in a row

Nine rounds into the season, Tuv Azarganuud is still waiting for his first point. And so far it hasn’t even been close. Just look at this result line:

1–20, 0–9, 1–11, 0–12, 0–21, 0–13, 0–4, 0–7, 0–14.

Zero points. Overall 2-111 in goal difference. And then it should be said that the “honorable” 0-4 loss against Khangarid was only due to Tuv leaving the walkover due to not getting a team together.

They haven’t even been lucky with the weather. This as blizzards and freezing temperatures are common during the Mongolian late autumn.

In any case, the table jumbo can take comfort in the fact that a several-month long winter break now awaits.

Plenty of time to muster the strength to bounce back from the record weak start, in other words.
