Saint Dominic.-After two epic battles in the first two dates of the Grand Final of the District Superior Basketball Tournament, between the Mauricio Báez and Bameso clubs, whose outcome yielded a victory for each side, both quintets are preparing to leave after the victory in the third match, scheduled for this Tuesday at 8:00 pm at the Ricardo Arias National Volleyball House, at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
Those from the Social Improvement Neighborhood won in a first confrontation in which they staged a memorable comeback, when, being down by up to 24 points, they managed to get back on the scoreboard and win the exciting 108-107 victory.
In that titanic fight, the Bamesians were led by 38 points from the star Jassel Pérez, who scored two free throws with 3:9 seconds of play, in overtime, which gave the final advantage to Bameso.
However, those from Villa Juana responded on Sunday, with a forceful demonstration that led them to leave through the wide door, after a Bameso triumph, 91-78 over Bameso and in the process equaling the TBS District 2024 final at two wins per side .
Mauricio’s offensive leaders were North American reinforcement Emmitt Williams, with 21 points and eight rebounds, followed by Richard Bautista, who scored 17 with seven assists, and Juan Miguel Suero scored 16.
For Bameso, Jassel Pérez from San Cristobal scored 26 points with five rebounds and five assists, Santiago reinforcement Víctor Liz and Jean Carlos Quezada contributed 11 points each.
