The selective tricolor badminton team ended its participation in the XV Mexican International 2024which was held at the Morelos University Sports and Cultural Poliforum in Aguascalienteswith a total of four podiums in the individual events of both branches, as well as in mixed doubles and women’s doubles.

Luis Armando Montoya y Sabrina Solis They obtained their respective medals in the men’s and women’s categories. Montoya won the silver medal by losing in the final against the American Mark Alcalá 2-1 (21-15, 18-21 and 21-12), while Solís obtained the bronze after closing his participation in the semifinals against Guatemalan Nikte Sotomayor 2-0 (21-14 and 21-14).

For its part, Miriam Rodriguez y Luis Armando Montoya they took the mixed doubles championshipafter defeating the Guatemalans Christopher Martínez and Diana Corleto in the final by 2-0 (21-16 and 21-11); Third place in the test went to the Americans Yu-Yuan Chang and Katelin Ngo.

Miriam Rodriguez won the gold metal again in women’s doubles with Romina Fregosoboth winners of the Pan American bronze in Santiago 2023, after beating their compatriots Cecilia Madera and Isabella Puente in the last duel with a score of 2-0 (21-16 and 21-17), while third place went to the Peruvians Fernanda and Rafaela Munar.
With the results of this contest held in Aguascalientes, the national teams will continue with their sports agenda in the final stretch of the year when they face the Canadian International Challenge 2024 in the city of Markham, to be held from December 3 to 8.
