The Warsteiner got off to a good start in the game, had the chance to make it 5:2 on his own serve, but instead conceded the first break and ultimately lost set number one in the tiebreak. Struff kept the upper hand in the even second set, but quickly lost touch in the third round and ultimately lost the match.
From November 19th, Struff will be playing for national coach Michael Kohlmann’s team at the Davis Cup final in Malaga.
