Joel Embiid hasn’t been on the court for a minute this NBA season. Now the Olympic champion’s comeback with the Philadelphia 76ers has been delayed after a fight.
Embiid has been suspended for three games by the NBA. According to the league, the 2023 MVP pushed a reporter in the locker room last weekend following a 107-124 home game loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Philadelphia Inquirer columnist had previously reported critically about Embiid.
Embiid’s suspension will take effect from the moment he is healthy and ready to play again, the NBA said in a statement. The Paris Olympic champion, who is suffering from knee problems, will not receive any wages during the suspension.
