Last hours to visit the exhibition of the iconic Giorgio Gandolfi at Mo.Ca, promoted by Rotary Manerbio, but there is still time to make a difference
When the NBA exhibition is the perfect basket
The eyes widen, shining brightly with emotion. The breath is held as when the action starts to get to the basket. The suspense, the charm, the healthy tension. Emotions upon emotions. Adrenaline skyrocketing. Here you try to watch a basketball game, here you try to observe the works immortalized by the iconic professional journalist Giorgio Gandolfi, in numerous NBA basketball games in the 1980s in America, which was able to honor the historic exploits of five great legends and made them available to the public in an exhibition that knows how to captivate, knows how to involve, knows how to keep visitors in adoration .
I pace the action waiting to see what will happen while Julius Erving «doctor J», Larry Bird, Erving «Magic» Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kareem A. Jabbaraim to get to the basket.
If all this has reached us at the Mo.Ca in Brescia, and is still accessible to this day (6 November from 2.30pm to 7pm), it is thanks to the commitment of Rotary Manerbio and Gandolfi himself, with a collaboration that ” it tastes good” because we have tried and are trying to build a path for the implementation of actions and events dedicated to inclusion. Events designed to support the creation of a BaskIn team and to give continuity to an inclusive theater project that the Rotary Club has been carrying out for a few years.
From the presentation of a new sporting discipline, namely Inclusive Basketball, the idea was born of organizing an event that would support both the promotion of the same and the financing or sponsorship of events (both sporting and otherwise) to raise awareness in the world broader people on what are the fundamental values of Rotary: friendship, integrity, diversity, service and leadership.
The exhibition and the charity auction
The work behind the scenes was immense. Such as preparing the material (consisting of 60 exclusive photographs, in 30×40 format, on non-deformable support and with the technical caption to identify the moments that are immortalized by the image). The photographs portray highlights of the careers of the 5 best players of all time: Julius Erving «doctor J», Larry Bird, Erving «Magic» Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kareem A. Jabbar, all taken in sensational and significant moments for modern basketball , strictly signed by the author.
No less immense was the work to organize an online auction. Yes, because these works that can make the heart “bounce” in the chest can be brought into family environments and purchased permanently. They can be observed while in the background, in the mind of each fan or simply in the mind of some benefactor, the sounds of the shoes scraping on the parquet of the pitch echo, or the voices of the fans singing the hymns drowned out by those of the reporters who will describe the action. Whenever, whoever wins the chosen image or images, wants. What an absolute privilege.
All that remains therefore is to do oneself and do good, participating in the auction and supporting the activities of both the promotion of BaskIn and the financing or sponsorship of a series of sporting and other events to bring people closer to this new inclusive discipline that the Rotary Club Manerbio with Fobap and Anffas Brescia Onlus have been implementing a partnership for some time, based on a common passion for inclusion.
The first stage in the exhibition in the Brescia area at Mo.Ca of the photographic exhibition “Nba of the Eighties: the five legends” ends tonight at 7pm, waiting for other opportunities to excite again; for the auction, however, there is still time, just type https://www.catawiki.com/a/1076699 and why not… may this be the perfect hamper, even for Christmas just around the corner!
