Judo Club Wermelskirchen is state league champion

On the third day of fighting, the fighters from the Wermelskirchen Judo Club secured the state league title. The final fights were held in Cologne-Dellbrück. The Wermelskirchen Lions defeated the ESV in three roundsOlympia Cologne, TV Dellbrück and the Judo Club at TSV Dieringhausen.

With eight judoka, coach Sven Dicke’s team was well positioned in five weight classes. Till Scheida competed in the weight class up to 73 kilograms, Akbar Gadoev in the up to 81Kilo. After a career-related break, Tim Schulze was also back in the weight class up to 90 kilograms. Silas Dörner fought as a lightweight (under 66 kilograms), Kai Zimmer, on loan from his friend Burscheider TG, brought over 90 kilos to the mat. Andreas Morszek later came on as a substitute in the same weight class. In the last round, Akbar Gadoloev also had to be replaced by Niklas Diederich due to injury. Marcel Rudolph won without a fight because none of the opposing teams competed in his weight class.

JC Wermelskirchen won the first fight 9-1 against ESV Olympia. Only Andreas Morszek (over 90 kg) lost to his opponent in the second half of the season. In the second fight, JC Wermeslkirchen suffered three defeats, but still left the mat with a result of 7:3 against the hosts from Dellbrück. After a change in the lineup, the team also won the third fight against Dieringhausen (8:2).

It is therefore clear: JC Wermelskirchen is the winner of the state league championship with 55 fights won and 15 defeats. TV Dellbrück is second in the table with 46 wins and 24 defeats. The fourth day of fighting on November 16th will not be able to change the title.
