She began playing badminton at the age of 9-10, motivated by her parents, both of whom had a deep passion for sports. Her dedication to both athletics and academics allowed her to succeed in one of India’s most challenging exams.
After her success in the UPSC examination, Kuhoo chose to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). Her decision was influenced by her father’s example in public service and her desire to contribute to society and make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
IPS Kuhoo Garg Educational Qualification
Kuhoo Garg’s educational journey was shaped by the frequent relocations due to her father’s job. She began her schooling at St. Joseph School in Dehradun before moving to Delhi, where she attended Sanskriti School from grades 8 to 12. This experience of living in different cities helped her adapt and develop a versatile approach to education.
IPS Kuhoo Garg College Life
Later in 2018, Garg graduated with an Economics Honors degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). SRCC is one of Delhi University’s most prestigious institutions. During her time there, she not only excelled academically but also built lasting friendships that contributed to her personal growth. SRCC’s reputation as a hub for top-tier students helped shape her into a well-rounded individual, balancing her academics with her career in sports.
Beyond her academics, Kuhoo made a significant mark in the world of sports. She represented India in badminton, earning numerous accolades throughout her career. Remarkably, she is the first athlete to pass the UPSC exam while actively competing for Team India, a feat that her father proudly highlights as a major milestone in her life.
According to the media reports, she has won 56 National (All India Ranking) and 19 International medals in badminton. Kuhoo Garg’s path to the UPSC Civil Services Exam took an unexpected turn when a severe knee injury during a badminton match sidelined her from sports. With doctors advising an extended rest, Kuhoo decided to channel her energy and focus into preparing for the UPSC exam. She seized this recovery period as a valuable opportunity, dedicating herself completely to her studies. Her perseverance and disciplined preparation led to remarkable success, as she secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 178 in UPSC 2023, marking a significant achievement in her career.
