Nevada women’s basketball begins season facing Oregon

RENO, NV (KXNV) – Nevada is looking for its second straight season-opening victory, after defeating Sacramento State last season in the opener.

Oregon has already played one game in the 2024-25 campaign, defeating California Baptist on Monday 93-63.

The Ducks have completely revamped the team with nine new players on the roster, seven transfers and two freshmen.

Meanwhile, the Wolf Pack has a more experienced team after returning nearly every starter.

They have also added height in the off-season with the addition of transfer Amelia Raidaveta. Imbie Jones and Ahrray Young are two other important additions for Nevada. l

Freshman Kendra Hicks will also be an impact player.

Following Wednesday night’s game, Nevada will play its home opener on Friday, hosting Bushnell at 6:30 p.m.
